ABOUT JOEL
Hi, I’m Joel, I’m grateful you’re here!
My passion for helping individuals over 50 started with my fathers heart attack at age 53, in 2005. He had a triple bypass and with the help of the Cardiac Rehab team - he survived! He was lucky and so was I. I was fortunate to be able to create new memories and share more time together that I was close to losing. I wanted to help others like my dad as well as their loved ones who benefit so much from their presence so I decided to change my major in college to Health Promotion and ultimately went on to attain a Masters Degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology.
While all of this was going on, I was also struggling personally. I was dealing with anxiety and panic attacks and traditional medicine was not working! I needed a solution, but wasn’t sure where to turn so I started exploring alternative options and thats where I slowly began slowly uncovering the gentle yoga and mindfulness practices that are still the cornerstone of my wellbeing today. After spending so many years “off-center” I finally found the first semblance of feeling centered that I had felt since childhood.
I knew if these calming mental and balanced physical practices could work for me, that they could be even more powerful for the people over 50 that I loved to support. So after years as an Exercise Physiologist I went on to get Certified as a Yoga Teacher with a Specialty in the same Gentle Yoga practices were so instrumental in my own healing.
After seeing (and continuing to see) the profound physical and mental changes in my first gentle yoga client, I knew that it truly was magic. I had found my calling and now many years later I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be able to share in the joy that my clients have on the mat as well as hearing the stories of how their practice has been able to bring more purpose into their relationships and life off the mat. If you could use support to “Find Your Center”, let’s connect and see how gentle yoga can help!
With Intention,
Joel
